5 Things You Can't Store In Self Storage Fort Collins

It’s a common question we get here at Manhattan Storage. What can I store in my self storage in Fort Collins unit?

Well, we put a list of five things things that you cannot store in self-storage for you to reference.

  1. Hazardous Materials - If it can catch fire or explode, it cannot be stored. Gasoline, propane, oil, grease, chemicals, cleaners, aerosols, paint, etc. They cannot be stored in a self-storage unit.

  2. Things That Are Alive - this is kind of a no brainer but it applies to more than just humans. Animals and plants that are alive cannot be stored as well. You can’t live in your unit, neither can a pet or a plant.

  3. Perishables - when things degrade, they stink. Perishable items cannot be stored in your unit. Meat, dairy, produce, are not allowed to be stored.

  4. Weapons - If an item can hurt someone, it cannot be stored here. If it isn’t legal, it can’t be stored here.

  5. Wet Items - If an item has moisture, then it can mold and deteriorate the unit. You don’t want to store items that are wet. It’s not a good idea to throw a bunch of wet towels or blankets into your unit. It will be gross and possibly dangerous when you open it the next time.

When you’re looking for your next self storage in Fort Collins unit, we hope this list helps you with your decision!
